Rose Petal Jam

My roses are in full bloom right now. I’ve used the petals to make rose water in the past. This year I used the petals to make my first jam ever! I followed a hybrid of a few different recipes. I’m really happy with the taste. I used a low-sugar pectin so the jam isn’t overly sweet and the rose taste really shines through.

Confession: as a first-time jam maker, I did overset my jam. I’m already itching to make another batch and do better the second time around. In the meantime I’m enjoying my current batch on some homemade buttermilk biscuits. And I can tell you I have no complaints from my 3 year old who will gladly gobble it up and knows nothing about the perfect set for jam. 🙂
